Greg Conderacci Gives to Honor a Dream
![]() |
Greg Conderacci’s faith in God and Catholic Charities of Baltimore drives him to back the agency with his time, talent, and treasure. That’s why he regularly makes qualified charitable distributions from his IRA to support its work. And that’s why he has remembered Catholic Charities in his will.
Greg joined Catholic Charities as an employee more than 40 years ago. For a decade, he was instrumental in establishing Our Daily Bread, Christopher Place Employment Academy, My Sister’s Place Women’s Center, and Sarah’s House in Anne Arundel County.
Today, as a consultant and Johns Hopkins faculty member, he remains active at the agency as both a volunteer and a donor.
He has faithfully supported the annual Leadership Breakfast Campaign for many years in honor of Sister Josanna Abromaitis, who passed away in 2005. As Our Daily Bread’s first director, she recruited and inspired thousands of volunteers—creating the web of caring that still supports the center. (She and Greg were the “chefs” who cooked the first Leadership Breakfast at ODB decades ago.) He not only hired her, he asked her to be his daughter’s godmother!
“I like to think she’s still looking after them and the ODB staff and volunteers,” Greg says. “I give to keep alive her dream that has helped thousands of people over the years.”
Using distributions from an IRA to support Catholic Charities “is a smart way to make a significant gift” because of its tax advantages, Greg notes. He urges others to join him in making strategic gifts that will transform lives—for both the donors and the recipients!
